Solitaire Poker: Instructions

Click the button "New Game" to open a game. You can determine the desired maximum skill level of your opponent. You can of course also join a game already opened by another player.

The game board consists of 5 x 5 grid. At the start the squares are empty. The cards which are to be placed in the grid are displayed to the left of the grid. The first card of the pile faces up. Once a card has been placed in the grid, the next card is turned over. The number of cards remaining is also displayed next to the pile. A clock counting down is shown in a field above it. A player has five minutes to place all the cards in the grid.

Cards can be placed in the grid by double-clicking on an empty space. It is also possible to click on the card facing up and drag it onto an empty square. Cards can be placed anywhere in the grid, but once they are placed, they cannot be moved. As soon as five cards have been arranged into a row, horizontally, vertically or diagonally, points are calculated for the row. Points are assigned according to the values of the cards. After this calculation is completed, the cards disappear from the grid.

The game is played as a duel, whereby:
- Both players start out the same, with the same cards for each round.
- Players can play their rounds one after the other.
- After a player has finished a game, he/she can watch the opponent, leave the table, or start a new round.
- It is possible to invite other players, but opening private tables is not allowed.

Rules

This is a game for two players. At the start of the game the player sees an empty 5 x 5 grid. He/she has 5 minutes to place 50 playing cards in this grid. Five cards have to be placed horizontally, vertically or diagonally in order to form a Poker set. The points achieved for every completed row are then added up and the cards disappear from the grid. It is not necessary to fill up the entire grid. The grid is simply used to arrange cards strategically in order to form as many rows of Poker sets as possible.

The object of the game is to get as many points as possible out of the available cards by arranging as many Poker sets as possible. The player with the most points at the end wins.

The game is over once all the cards have been placed or the time is up.

Points

A player gets points for the following sets:
1 Pair = 10 points
2 Pairs = 20 points
Three of a Kind = 30 points
Straight = 50 points
Flush = 30 points
Full House = 80 points
Poker = 100 points
Straight Flush = 150 points
Royal Flush = 200 points
Fives = 150 points

If a player arranges multiple sets, points are multiplied as follows:
2 sets simultaneously (min. 1 pair): Regular points are multiplied by 2
3 sets simultaneously (min. 1 pair): Regular points are multiplied by 3
4 sets simultaneously (min. 1 pair): Regular points are multiplied by 4
